Lead Systems Developer (Direct Hire)
Job Description
As the recognized expert in particular business applications and programming technologies, provide application development and design direction, supervision, oversight, and support to System Developer team members. Serve as the primary technical liaison for project management, team members, and business users for a number of application areas. Work with management to ensure that requests for IT services from the business users of the assigned functional areas are met in a manner that is timely and meets expectations.
- Research and recommend changes where technology can be better used within the overall systems environment to improve efficiency, lower costs, and enhance the quality of business applications.
- Review development design and functional specifications with Systems Analysts and business users to ensure that development will be in compliance with the business requirements.
- Coordinate work with other Leads and IS management. Provide technical guidance to other team members and lead programming projects in a team-oriented environment.
- Assist the Project Manager or other team members in preparing and/or reviewing project plans per business requirements to determine time frame, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project(s).
- Assist the Project Manager in monitoring status of the project and establishing resolution paths for technical issues.
- Review all design specifications, testing, and acceptance testing results.
- Provide feedback to and/or participate in performance appraisals for project team staff.
- Be on call for critical systems applications for 7 x 24 business environment.
- Work with quality assurance to develop and implement acceptance test plan to ensure that product meets customer requirements and expectations.
- Train and assist technical support staff on use of application systems software as needed. Assist less experienced staff in user specifications, coding, testing, and debugging.
- Maintain regular written communication on project status with Team lead and IS management.
- Troubleshoot application production problems with team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 13 years systems analysis and programming experience
- 4 years supervisory responsibility for applications development staff of 5 or more.
- Proficient in use of MS Office tools.
- Strong experience with Synon/Cool2E.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Established presenter of technical and non-technical material.
- Excellent communicator striving for "Win-Win" scenarios.
- Proficient in MS Office product suite.
- Strong problem solving and business analysis skills.
- Previous Healthcare or Pharmacy Benefit Management experience preferred.
