Senior ERP Developer (Direct Hire)
Job Description
This position is a key development team member accountable for the analysis, design, development and support of our client?s business systems, primarily the company's BaaN Manufacturing ERP system. This position will be responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle, including definition and management of projects, system/functional/report specifications, technical design/development/data modeling, and production support.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects with cross functional teams made up of IT and business representatives with activities that include: Work with end users, business analysts and business management to: Analyze business processes and system functionality, looking for ways to improve, correct or enhance business processes. Recommend and define solutions that meet business objectives. Work with management and team to establish work plans and schedules.
- Develop design documents that define business requirements and technical specification that minimally include: Overall system flow in support of the defined business process. Technical and/or Report design specifications. Logical data models.
- Design application functionality per approved functional and technical designs.
- Develop and use standard development practices for coding including revision control, proper documentation, and other software development life-cycle procedures.
- Learn other technologies as necessary to develop/support other application platforms as necessary.
- Work with software vendor support organizations for problem resolution as required.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of ERP development using a major ERP application (SAP, JDEdwards, PeopleSoft, BaaN).
- Minimum of 2 years BaaN development required.
- Solid understanding of underlying business processes support ERP environment.
- The ability to meet with end users to gather requirements and ability to design and develop effective solutions.
- Previous experience in a UNIX environment (or a UNIX derivative) is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in CS or MIS or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong team orientation with the ability to work in a fast-paces environment balancing multiple tasks.
Desired Experience
- ERP LN (a BaaN upgrade) experience is not required but would be ideal.
- Previous Informix experience preferred.
